Mission of the Friends of the Asian Holocaust Memorial
•Mission: The mission of the Friends of the Asian Holocaust Memorial is to seek to revive and perpetuate memories of the Asian Holocaust through a Memorial in downtown Boston •Vision: The vision of the Friends of the Asian Holocaust Memorial is inspired by the idea and vision of a world without inhumanity - looking to the time when humankind has learned to share this planet and all its blessings with all living beings. •Goals •- Find a suitable site in Downtown Boston for the Memorial •- Erect thereon an Asian Holocaust Memorial •- Develop a plan to expand the Memorial’ s message towards the amelioration of the human condition through greater tolerance, compassion, and empathy •-Establish liaison and networking with other organizations that have similar mission and goal •-Execute a template of a strategic communication plan for memorial-monuments to propagate throughout the world a message of remembrance •-Enlist like-minded people in efforts to enhance greater appreciation for diversity of peoples and for human right • •Immediate Objectives •-Recruit a diverse Board of Directors •-Solicit land from the City of Boston for memorial site •-Secure a major gift of at least $50,000 within six months - for planning and development costs •-Raise $2 million in two years for actual construction •-Double the number of website hits per month within six months on a consistent basis •- Train a group of articulate “lead missionaries” with the key messages and talking points so they “own” the idea •- Sponsor lectures and discussions on the importance of an Asian Holocaust Memorial •- Organize a memorial design committee to decide on advisability of a public design contest, as in the case of the New England Holocaust Memorial
