• KEY MESSAGES

  • – Meta-message
    • • Remembrance and memory
  • – Mini-messages
    • • our common survival as a human species
    • • stewardship for one another
    • • sharing our humanity with each other, regardless of race, ethnicity, economic class, age, gender, politics, and religion.

• SELECT MESSAGE  TO EACH GROUP

  • – Asian-Americans /Asians
    • • The memorial will be our collective place to remember what happened to our ancestral mother countries. It could be a starting point for redefining our Asian-American identity and assure us of a meaningful place in multicultural America.
    • • We cannot allow seventy years of forgetfulness to slip by unmarked. Otherwise, we become unwilling participants in our own victimization, and ultimately leave the doors open to new attempts to revive exploitation, cruelty, and rapine in Asia.
  • – Japanese-Americans / Japanese
    • • Issues are not polarized into “us” against “them.” The Japanese people suffered much themselves from their leaders who misled them into war.
    • • Persuade “them” about their better nature and  that the memorial has redemptive value
  • –  Jewish and Armenian-Americans
    • • The common experiences our people suffered as victims of a fascist and racist ideology bind us together. Join us in solidarity so we can speak with one voice. Let’s put our heads together to stop man’s exploitation of man.
    • • Teach us and help us achieve what you yourselves were able to achieve
